Mobile Phone- Boon or Bane

A Mobile phone is probably the most widely used electronic gadget today. The first cell phone unit was manufactured by in 1947 by AT&T (then BELL Labs). Since then, the cell phone has evolved from giant foot long receivers to as slim as 4mm thin. Today, it is a lifestyle statement based on the kind of cell phone you use. It has revolutionized the whole communication process. You can text people in seconds, share your moments of life with your friends through an MMS, surf internet at the speed of 3.1 MBPS, send voicemails, and all this with just a tiny gadget. It is truly a remarkable achievement in the field of communication.

Just like anything else, mobile phones also have a lot of negative effect. With so many different ways to communicate, face to face communication is almost extinct. The electromagnetic radiations emitted by the mobile phone and the heat generated by them cause adverse effect on eth health. A recent study showed that men who talk for more than 4 hours a day on mobile phone have the worst sperm counts and the poorest quality sperm. Excessive usage of mobile phone is often linked with Brain tumor, skin cancer, headaches, sleep disorders, and many more. Texting is often associated with bone and muscle fatigue diseases. These are just the physical damages and if we start counting the psychological damages caused, it is another long list. For starters, sufferers have arguments, lie a lot, and experience social isolation and fatigue.

Despite so many ill effects of mobile phone, it is still the most widely used gizmo in the world. I guess, when used moderately according to the usage restrictions, there is nothing more helpful than a mobile phone.
